About the Role:
We’re looking for a Manual Test Engineer to help validate key components in our robotic platforms—specifically embedded compute devices and camera systems. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for writing and executing test plans, working directly with hardware in a lab setting, and ensuring high-quality performance and reliability of the devices that power our robots. This role also emphasizes requirements traceability, and you will be expected to work closely with tools like Jama Connect, DOORS, or Polarion to ensure test coverage and alignment with system specifications. ---
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and execute manual test cases for robotic subsystems such as embedded compute units and camera modules
· Operate and validate hardware in a lab environment, ensuring devices perform according to system requirements
· Use requirements management tools (Jama Connect, DOORS, or Polarion) for traceability, test documentation, and coverage tracking
· Document findings and write professional test reports and defect summaries
· Collaborate with hardware, software, and integration teams to debug issues and iterate quickly
· Use basic Python scripting to aid in testing and data collection (shell scripting is a plus)
· Contribute to test process improvements and subsystem-level test frameworks
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience in manual testing, especially with embedded systems or hardware-based products
· Strong ability to write clear, structured test cases and detailed professional reports
· Experience working directly with hardware components such as cameras and embedded compute platforms (no electronics design knowledge required.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Comfortable working in active lab environments with moderate background noise
· Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage work independently in a fast-paced setting
